                                                  AFOSI IMA reserve positions

Final approval of any assignment to OSI is based on the AFOSI "110 Investigative Process" which takes about 90-120 days.

Agent Positions:
AFOSI only considers E5/E6 applicants for cross training. All other ranks (to include officers) must be fully qualified. Fully qualified means completion of FLETC's CTIP and BSCI.

First, complete AF Form 1288. If you are a traditional reservist (TR) it must be signed by your losing wing commander; IMAs need signatures from both the losing commander and losing RMG/PM. Guard members need signatures from both the losing commander and a reserve recruiter. Inactive (any prior service) must contact a reserve recruiter. If you are an active duty agent you need both your region commander and a reserve recruiters signature. Assignment preferences: Annotate in block 16 but no promises can be made. AFOSI IMAs can be assigned anywhere OSI performs duty. Therefore, we do allow for some flexibility when scheduling duty. Drills can be performed at an AFOSI location close to your home of residence when coordinated with your assigned unit.

Second, contact the nearest AFOSI detachment to initiate the AFOSI "110 investigative process." The AFOSI Det will assist you in setting up an interview and completing all documentation; they will be your POC throughout the process. If you need the phone number for an AFOSI Det, please call the base operator or AFOSI/DPII at 240-857-2161 or 1291. AFOSI active duty members need their own Det to accomplish a "mini 110" through the AFOSI/DPII office.

Once the 110 investigation is approved, the AFOSI Det that worked your case will notify you of your selection. You will receive an email from RMG Det. 5 with your new assignment info and instructions. Ensure you are current on all readiness requirements (PHA, dental and fitness test) to prevent any delays in the assignment process.

Support Positions: Advertised on the AF Portal/RMVS

Second, send RMG Det. 5 (afrc_rmg.det5@ogn.af.mil) a complete package which consists of (1) the signed AF Form 1288, (2) last 3 evaluations and (3) a Record Review Rip (RRR). We will send your package to AFOSI/DPII to initiate the AFOSI "110 investigative process."

Once the 110 investigation is approved, RMG Det. 5 will contact you. Ensure you are current on all readiness requirements (PHA, dental and fitness test) to prevent any delays in the assignment process.

Note to recruiter: Do not submit the 1288 in AFRISS until you are notified from this office that the member's "110" is approved by the AFOSI CARB President. Otherwise, it will "sit" in AFRISS and flag as overdue.
